@TasteLikeMota Dub is a subgenre of reggae. As early as ska, Jamaican music was released with a Version on the B-side that removed all but the choice lyrics and left the riddim (instrumentals). Music producers -- such as King Tubby and Scientist -- would get their hands on these Versions and add different effects: reverb, horn tracks, wahs, isolated vocal tracks, and so on. In short, dub is the precursor to the remix. Unlike roots reggae, dub has a more ambient quality not suitable for dancing.

@TasteLikeMota Dub is music from Jamaica, it's got it's roots in ska and reggae. It's often seen as a form of punk. Dub is used alot to remix songs.
