Your statement that Ike did the first rock song is incorrect. It was first recorded by Arthur Crudup, in 1946. Then again we can all argue that that is because it was the first recorded rock song....im sure somewhere even earlier there is a song that precedes that and is even more rocking for its shockingly early time. rock is American, and maybe jazz is earlier but at least we can agree (possibly) that jazz still sucks.

@logick0 - try this read by one of the founders of SST records Joe Carducci, "Rock and the Pop Narcotic" - might give you additional perspective on rock history...and the black/white/white/black debate...no doubt Bad Brains rock it, saw them many times way back when.
