2 people that played a lot of the soundtrack of my life. Jerry Garcia and John Hartford.I can't really play their music now without a tinge of sadness they are no longer with us on the ride....Both had the ability to bring a room full of people out of their normal reality and into a happy in-the-moment time of joy.Glad Hartford made it 25 years from when he recorded this song but sad he's not with us now. I'm glad I did get to meet him once and thank him for transporting me all those times.

I was fortunate when housemate brought John's album Aereoplane home from the campus radio station in maybe 1971. I couldn't get enough of his blue grass and voice. Last time I saw him was at the Gold Hill Inn maybe 1993 or '94 on a clear cold winter's night and he played Aereoplane in its entirety.

" It never gets old because it refuses to be new." very nicely said!

It's funny about this album. It never gets old because it refuses to be new. When it was released it brought an honesty and simplicity that resonated deeply with me. I found myself taking journeys on riverboats, steam powered aereo-planes, and going nowhere, sitting in the dump. The crafting of the words, the music, and the way the band was on exactly the same page took me to all those places before I even knew I left where I was. Start-to-finish, one of the finest albums ever made.

Hartford was one of a kind. A legend on the bluegrass circuit.

This song is probably one of the best songs I've heard in my life - it's a timeless classic and once you've heard it it's one of those songs you can take with you right to the end.
