Bach ought not be played at the pace of the 21st century.

I'm sorry but this is not to my taste. I found the tempo a little too fast and the baroque voices interfered too much with the melody.

Fast but great. Sometimes we have to add a modern touch and breath some life into these gems.

After Karl Richter, this seems like music for Tom & Jerry.

I like this piece a lot but I bought orgelwerke vii without knowing it's printed in alto cleff. I'm not proficient in reading alto cleff at all. I suppose I will now.

I count myself as an admirer of Koopman, but I'm in the 'too fast' camp. It robs this piece of its majesty, its poignancy. I wonder what he takes as his cues for selecting such a ridiculous tempo. Nothing from Bach himself, that much is certain.
