Speaking as a boomer, it has shades of Byrds with 12-string Rick guitar. Hear it?

They are the most amazing bright, fun, smart kids in music ever! They can make the sad, sounds lovingly fun. The weirdest stuff, look cool. There was not and never there will be a band like The B 52´s, they are unique, genius! Thank you so much for so many GREAT moments of pure Happyness fun, your songs bring to me. Peace, Love Forever!

Kind of hard to believe this song and Cosmic Thing are 25 years old this month. I have to thank my oldest sister for introducing me to the B-52s at fourteen.

I've always liked this song and along with almost every other commenter thinks this fell in the under appreciated pile, I started listening to it because I was tired of Roam and Love Shack not that they are not great songs. This song has gained a bigger sense of specialness to me now though.

Saw these guys once back in I think '82 at one of the big 3 day US Festivals in Devore, CA. The line-up for "New Wave Day" was The Police, Talking Heads, B-52's, Oingo Boingo, English Beat, Ramones, Gang of Four. I swear the B-52's were the best band of the day, certainly going by audience reception. You could imagine with their music they would really rock the house. Every time I hear this song it's always a mixed emotions because it reminds me that I got rid of most of their records including the UK 12" import single of Deadbeat Club. Even just to hold and look at the covers would be nice.
