This and Climax Blues Band (until 1972) are the most underrated Blues Bands ever!

Super bad ass! So glad some footage of this band has finally surfaced. My old band from Detroit called Bluesong did tons of Retaliation covers. We straight up worshipped these guys, and none of our blues/rock nerd buddies had even heard of them. Lol

Also saw them about every time they cane to Nottingham. Mainly at the Beachcomber if I recall correctly, including the night Victor Brox's ambulance (the band transport) broke down in Leicester and they arrived about 10.30. One night they asked for requests and I remember Morshead hissing 'Fuck off!' at me with a grin when I asked him to play San-Ho-Zay! Don't know why he didn't want to do it, it can't have been beyond him.

Saw them a few times in Nottm. One funny incident when there was a big end of set build up to a solo from Aynsley, which ended in confused silence and Aynsley muttering 'Fucking skin's broke on the snare...'

Hugely underrated band, featuring one of my all time favourite guitar players - John Morshead (however you choose to spell it!). Saw them many times in London in the 60s, and just great to see them here!

The pocket trumpet incident is 'Mean old world'. Just put Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation into the search box. Note spellings of Aynsley versus Ansley.

The performance where Victor Brox is also playing a pocket trumpet has already been posted on someone else's youtube channel. I added the link in my description above, click on 'show more'
