That's because she wrote most of GL by herself. She cowrote a lot of songs for Let go and Under My Skin. TBDT would have been the first if RCA didn't make Avril work with RCA.

it's not like that. Avril's songs are, indeed, less original and less deep than they used to be. Like, they're great, but GL as a whole is not as good as her previous in terms of writing. I'll just pick a few examples: Innocence, Runaway, Who Knows, Freak Out, Fall to Pieces, Naked, Mobile, My World... I missed more complete lyrics. GL is good, but Avril can do better. And she probably will on her next album, we hope. Maybe she was just too sensitive to write back then and her lyrics were short.
