Avi Buffalo is the adopted name of Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg, and the moniker of the band that he and a few friends began while in high school. Based in Long Beach, California, the indie pop band released their self-titled debut album to widespread critical acclaim in 2010, with NME declaring Avi to be "as good a songwriter as anyone who's ever traded under Sub Pop's logo." A follow-up album is currently in the works. While in Austin to perform at SXSW 2014, the band performed an intimate set at the Do512 Lounge presented by Bud Light.
