He says "We had the brazillian flag, the italian, but you should be ashamed to wave this flag? I am going to do it anyway!" Before the concert the organizer said to Tobias that he could not wave the german flag. It is due to a strange kind of shame some germans have towards the flag but they forget that the history of that flag is one of freedom and peace and unity. Tobias knew that it is okay to be proud to be a german as well as it is okay to be proud to be an american or italian etc.

It is really a shame that there are still negative connotations espiecally taking a flag which has nothing to do with Hitler or World War 2. It is a symbol for freedom which appeared the first time long before Hitler at the Wartburg Fest in the 19th century.
