It seems whoever we talk with they love August Burns Red (Solid State Records). At Warped Tour 2011, they were quite the buzz and put on of the best sets we had the chance to see. We had the chance to talk with Brent Rambler, guitarist of August Burns Red (Solid State Records), in Pomona, California. Brent was kind enough to talk with us about faith, life on the road, and why he believes if you take a simple look around you'll know that Jesus Christ is real.

Brent explain his belief in God and how the whole band grew up in Christian homes. Nate asks Brent why he believes in God and Brent uses a "Creation vs Evolution" response.

its easier to believe in a God who created the world, than to believe everything evolved over time.

The god-related questions they ask in interviews on this channel are so out of place and awkward. Brent is entitled to his own personal beliefs, and if you've ever had anyone come up to you and start aggressively talking/asking about religion, your answers would sound weird too.

Where do we have any evidence that some god/s gave us our personality?

Ok, as a Christian, I can affirm that Christians do not ignore science. We just choose to believe something different about the origin of life. But, Christians generally teach the same biology, chemistry, and physics that secular scientists do, only from a creationist standpoint. We don't ignore science, we choose to reject evolution. Evolution and creation are both theories that require a whole lot of faith to believe.

Don't know what it is about Christianity in America that causes people to reject well established and supported scientific facts.

I don't buy their records and learn their songs to get some biting incite on their personal beliefs. Seriously, why should we give a garden gnome's cock about their thoughts (or lack of). They are good musicians and good blokes who unfortunately ignore science. But do their songs sound shit because of that? Na.

There will always be people who believe and those who don't but you can't say that God doesn't exist because there are bad things in the world. God gave us free will meaning it's not God doing the bad things it's us choosing to do them the explanation of christianity may never make sense to a non believer but let's all share one belief Respect.

Misleading title much? He talked about creation vs. evolution for approximately 2 seconds.

Macro-evolution can't be prove, there's that "missing link" they keep looking for(a species that's inbetween the evolutionary stage). Read Ray Comforts book about scientific facts that back the Bible. It's a good read.

Im an Atheist, and I personally love ABR. I can relate to a bunch of their songs that can be interpreted in either a Christian way or a non-christian way. Yeah, there are the blatantly obvious Christian-y songs they have but that still doesn't take away the fact that they make amazing music.

What if... We just shut up, put our differences aside, and enjoyed the music?I'm agnostic, but this video doesn't really offend me because he has as much of a right to believe in God as I have a right to not.At the end of the day, August Burns Red creates music that people of any religion, or lack thereof, can enjoy. Let's just leave it at that.

Cells do have different personalities, ever heard of cancer?Your music is damn good but your views are misinformed and wrong. Sorry.

My issue with his statement is that personalities are developed through culture, social norms, and society. People can believe whatever they want and I respect that but personalities are developed through those who they surround themselves with.

+kyle shumate God would actually be the evil one. What is more evil than infanticide, genocide, and my personal favorite, creating sentient being with a specific nature then telling them to go against it. I mean, the 10 Commandments only apply within the tribes of Israel in the bible. And the big JC isn't a stand up guy either. Jesus wasn't a pillar of goodness, as exibited in Matthew 10:35 (the hell JC?!), the (in)famous Mark 11:15-16 (no church bake sales), Mark 11:12-14 (Because kill a tree if it doesn't have fruit on it), Mark 16:15-16 (what a nice guy), and Luke 14:26 (seriously, I have to hate everyone to follow this douche). And Revalation just throws forgiveness out of the water (So if I get a mark so that I can feed myself and my family, I'm going to burn for all time?).

You can have both.Having reviewed the textbooks myself on the origin of life in my work for my degree and having an above average understanding of how complex life has come about I can say that physically the humans we see today have been shaped by biological evolution. This cannot be questioned. Complex life was not created ~6000 years ago. Extreme creationists may disagree with me here. However I agree with him that his personality is in a sense shaped by God. This can be interpreted is many ways, but I think what Brent means to say is that the person he is today is shaped by events bigger than himself or are within his power. The summation of these events could very well represent God for him although I think that one of the big misconceptions of modern Christianity to me is the personification of God. God isn't necessarily a singular conscience or person anything specific like that. You can disagree with me though.
