In the 50th Charlie was our favorit sax player. I just heart this title on hammond b3 by B.Dennerlein comparing the beautiful flow of this melodious and rythmic composition by Charlie Parker, he is a real genius musician. I love his songs which have become jazz classics that will never die - neither will he.

I first heard this in 1955 at the age of 15. Could't make out what was going on but it grew on me. Glad to hear people are still hearing this for the first time now - 61 years later.

The fact that you can change the speed makes this shit sooooo much easier to learn by ear.

Who am I?

+Simon Dechaene its a major blues so even though its based on the dominant 7 blues form, the major 7th can be used, but almost always (99%) on the 1 chord coming out of the IV. Thats what gives it a major blues vibe. The rhythm section knew this and they would play maj7 chord structures after the IV if the soloist lead them there. Bird usually played maj blues changes. Good stuff!
