First time I seen Rog since he died. I played little league basesball with him and his twin bro Ronnie . HI Ronnie! I watched [ and I had THE HONOR ] of watching as Rog went from playing slayer and maybe metallica covers to being the BEST Bassist and probably the best Death Metal Bassist OF ALL TIME.... Listen to "piece of time" ! I was at their warehouse everynight during the whole writing processfor that album and multiple shows. LOVE YOU GUYS,,,,,GOT A STOGE????

Everyone of those guys in that band are fucking masters at what they do. This band didn't get the attention and recognition it deserved. They defined jazz influenced technical death metal. Now any band who plays arpeggios more than once in a song is considered "technical".

His name is Rand Burkey. From my understanding, his mother owned a guitar shop so as a kid he just grabbed a right handed guitar and turned it upside down, he's always played like that.

I saw Atheist with Cynic (still my heroes after all these years), Brutality and Rugged Edge at the Thrash Can in Miami Beach years back in 1990. I had to leave the show early because some skinhead tried to start a fight with me...for wearing the Atheist t-shirt with the Jimmy Swaggart quote on the back. At least I got to see Roger for 20 minutes prior...his bass tone on Peace Of Time was TO DIE FOR. Next week I got to hang out with Sean and Paul and Tony at the Cynic warehouse..cool guys!
