This is Astrud. I can definitely recognize her voice. She seemed to have been a victim of the "discoization" craze of the late 1970's. It would have been better to have done a Bossa Nova rendition of this classic song.

It is Astrud. If you go to her home page and go to the 'discography' heading, the album 'Jungle' has a link to a sample. It is this song, precisely. Please bear in mind that this album was released in 2002, when Ms. Gilberto was 62 years old, not the 24-year-old who recorded 'Girl From Ipanema'. The mix on this album is not what it could be, that's for sure. She's overpowered by the instrumental track, the horns, especially. Have a little respect for a fine artist. *¬◊
