@m1r9h71 same for me, Head Music after Coming up was like.....you're kidding right? It took a long time to grow on me, but isn't on the same level as the earlier albums. And it was the last Suede album I bought for a long time, even though I still listened the crap out of the other albums (Sci-Fi, Singles, Coming up, DMS, Suede). I only bought A New Morning special ed a few months ago and well it takes some getting used to. Although I instantly loved Golden Gun and Waterloo.

Should have been a single ..far superior to 'Positivity' Alex Lee probably co-wrote the better songs on 'A New Morning' ..'Beautiful Loser' 'StreetLife' and 'Astrogirl'

@m1r9h71 I thought Head Music was still good, so lyrically it may not be Dog Man Star, but Can't Get Enough, Everything will Flow, She's in Fashion were great songs. Other tracks like Asbestos, Hi Fi, Elephant Man werent that great, but they sounded good instrumentally and were still ok songs.

I've always thought it's a shame that 'A New Morning' did not do well. I personally find it a vast improvement over 'Head Music'. I only liked the singles from 'Head Music' and I find the rest of that album to be poor. 'A New Morning' as an album though is actually good ( at the time probably even a return to form ). Not just the singles from it. Astrogirl is a very good track.

I don't think Brett ever got over the fact that "A New Morning" was largely ignored by Suede fans. Had this record been appreciated in it's time, I really think there would have been another one. In fact there were a few songs that were recorded at the same time as "Attitude" ,"Golden Gun", etc. that were never released.
