Astral Navigations - The Astral Navigator Yesterday. 1971, Holyground.
Bill Nelson - Guitar
There's no one more qualified to make interesting and challenging music than Bill Nelson. Like a lot of people I thought Bill's only pre Be Bop Deluxe work was his album, Northern Dream. It was only later I discovered his input with the "Holyground" independent music workshop from 1970/71. Astral Navigations. Seminal Holyground album from 1971 finally issued by Kissing Spell. Side one features acoustic rock songs with the Holyground psych edge, whereas side two concentrates on Thundermother; a progressive acid-rock band. Featuring Bill Nelson on lead guitar on three tracks. Bill can also be found on A to Austr as well.
