Ash Morgan faced the public vote for the first time tonight on The Voice and it was a nerve wracking experience for the Welsh singer.

Viewers had their say for the first time last Friday, when they were able to choose between two acts per team and pick one for the semi finals. The phone lines were opened once the coaches had picked one of their acts to fast pass to semi finals and Ash won Jessie J's vote, while Matt Henry went up against Sarah Cassidy and won.

Tonight Ash and Matt went head to head for the final place in Team Jess and for his solo performance, Ash chose to sing 'Ex-Factor' by Lauryn Hill

He sounded pretty upbeat before the live show and tweeted his fans saying:

"Well today is the day guys!! SEMI-FINALS!!! Bring it on!! @BBCTheVoiceUK"
