"I'm the R to the A to the K-I-MAnd If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?"For all who didn't know, this is where Eminem got his famous line from.

Now THIS is REAL rap, this is what the *uck the music is supposed to sound like!!! This song came out in 1986 and it STILL can whip the a*** of any weak sh*t that's being played in 2014. Ain't no song out right now by NOBODY that (supposed to be good), that can touch Rakim's sh*t, or EPMD, or SALT N PEPA, RUN DMC, Cool J and the rest of the REAL mc's. *uck that weak bullsh*t!!!!!

I love when Rakim breaks down his lyric process. I took time to write Tonight I will recite So poetically inclined when the mic is held tight I think he was somewhat of a visionary as well because when he says: to other MCs who waste time writing jokes riddles and maybe a rhyme: The makes me think of the a majority of the new Hip Hop as a whole LOL!

...and Rakim sampled the Beastie Boys. Who cares if Eminem used part of this?

An ass-load of people sampled Eric B. and Rakim. Paid In Full is one of if not the most sampled hip-hop album out there. Who wouldn't want to borrow from an album so sonic? :P

I remember hearing this for the first time when it was a new release. Some songs have longevity. This one really does.

I agree p diddy pretty much fuck up hip hop when he was taking about materialistic and cars. And rappers in the 2000s through today are heavy materialistic in the mainstream.
