I was fortunate to have known him quite well in the 1970s. He told me that most of his recordings during his prime years were made for the English Decca company. He lived mainly in London in the early 1930s.

Ive been in search of a song sung by arthur tracy for years and was hoping you may be able to help. Its called My Gypsy Dream Girl. It was my granddads song for my nan. The only vocals i can put to it are my fathers interpretation. Please help. Many Thanks Shayne Ricketts

Thanks for looking! No, I wasn't able to find the recording year when I posted it. I'm guessing it was recorded around the time the song was initially a hit, going by the recording quality. So, my guess would be between 1935 and 1938.

My pal next door had a victrola and we listened to a recording of this song, sometime in the 30's. It was one of my favorite songs. I really enjoyed hearing it again. Thanks Tom. BTW - Do you know what year Arthur Tracy recorded this one ? You may have answered that question in your description, I looked and looked but didn't see it !
