ARTESIA started as a "one-woman-band" with Agathe, in 2001. The first record is a self-produced cd, called "l'Eveil de l'âme" (8 titles/36 min), is out in june 2003. Because of a bad sound's quality, there is no distribution. Gaëlle, a talentuous violinist, decided to join the band in September 2003. A new demo is recorded one year later ("l'Aube Morne").

During Summer 2005, the first real album "Hilvern" is recorded. Then the girls sign a contract with the french label Prikosnovenie. A collector version of Hilvern is available, in a limited box.

In early 2007, new songs are recorded, and the second album "Chants d'Automne" is out, in a digipack format.

2008 announces a lot of changes : Gaëlle decides to leave the band for personal reasons. Agathe works alone on the new songs, but is quickly rejoined by Loïc, who becomes a real member. Coralie, a young violinist, joins them too, and they are now recording the third album, which will be out in March 2009...
