Well, it's not necessarily a male singer doing high vocals that bothers me, I think there are plenty of guys that sing in a very high falsetto and pull it off, likewise females that do brutal vocals and it works (girl from iwresteledabearonce comes to mind). I guess at the male end, although pop, Justin Timberlake comes to mind. Its just this particular male vocal that I don't jive with too well. Wasn't really trying to commentate on gender roles/ stereotypes-- I agree with you though.10 years ago

That's a fairly common opinion or taste, I mean just look at country music. High vocals by females, low ones by males, pretty much the unspoken rule. Personally, I think it's awesome when a male vocalist has this kind of range, but our society has all these bullshit ideas about machoism that I think predispose people to not like it.10 years ago
