I would say, fuck those Arnel Pineda haters and critics !!! they can say all they want to say BUT it is undeniable that Arnel already prove to the world WHO HE REALLY IS ! All everybody talks about is Arnel isn't Steve perry. And I have to agree with this statement. However Arnel comes close. And to be honest who is the better singer overall hands down Arnel. He can sing anything he is very versatile. Go watch his cover band material. Wow.. there's more to him than Journey. When the band ends his singing career with continue to move forward. Mark my words..

I am being totally honest here ---- never ever thought I would like a non-Perry singer with Journey, but this fella did a fabulous job. There is only one Steve Perry and I was fortunate to have seen him sing with Journey many times in the late 70's and early 80's. Pineda isn't replacing Perry - he's just continuing the cycle with the band that wants to keep playing. I understand this more now as my husband is a drummer in a local band and he would love to play again. But the lead singer is out. So either my hubby doesn't play music anymore because the singer can't - or he continues on without him.

I commend journey for giving this guy a chance of a lifetime. I commend Arnel for doing as well as he does. I'm not a huge Journey fan but they are certainly very skilled group of musicians.Arnel is very talented as well. I think the best people to judge him are his band mates themselves. If they think he deserves to be there, then he does. The sold out shows prove it.

SP is great but reality is he is living his life outside Journey, he will always be "the voice" but AP is the continuing the legacy of the Journey sounds.

To be honest I still don't get all the hostility to do with the Journey front men. I saw Journey the first time in the late 70's. Perry was awesome, and remained awesome every time I saw him through the 80's and into the 90's.When the band broke up the second time, it was the end of an era. I saw them with Jeff Scott Soto...and although I've heard him sing great in other genres of sound...Journey wasn't for him. I'll leave him out of this. Now...Perry, Augeri, and Pineda...what's the beef? All Journey singers...all different times...all different voices....and? Each with their own time and their own sound. Personally I like Perry best, Pineda a very close second, but honestly one of my favorite all time Journey songs was sung by Augeri, "A Higher Place". I don't think anyone will ever come on scene with a voice like Perry's again. I also think both Augeri and Pineda patterned their sound on Perry for singing Journey...duh...of course they did. I'm not sure why that's bad. To be honest my wife likes Pineda better then Perry, I don't agree, but she doesn't think he's trying to sound that much like Perry, and that I do agree with. While the vocals are reminiscent of Perry...Pineda has his own voice for sure, and no one with any eardrum capacity can say he doesn't have a powerhouse voice. If Perry had never existed, Pineda would probably have never even been found. But if he had, he would probably have the same type of fanatical following that Perry has had. So all in all, what do I think about Journey front men? Quit arguing. I don't see the point. And by the way...who sounds the most like Perry? Not that it matters...but is it Pineda? Augeri? Nope...IMHO it's their drummer Deen...cheers and happy 2015!

Guys no need to argue.... As long as the band is still playing the songs we like, be happy. Doesn't matter what nationality of their lead vocal. All it matters is the lead vocal can sing the songs the like original, right?! Good Luck on the bands journey and GOD SPEED!!!!
