If the original artist is so obscure, we might as well deem the one who covered it to be the original shouldnt we?

took me a while to listen to AP, but I'm glad I gave it a try. I'm fascinated with this music, something is just so wonderfully off about it. Very hard to put a finger on. I guess thats why I keep listening...what an awesome sound!

i just now found out this was originally the Rockin' Ramrods. their version is cool, but i dig this one way more. for some reason, when he breaks into the chorus, i envision Ariel Pink as some kind of ornately festooned Las Vegas showman, with sequins and a gaudy cape and shit, belting the chorus out to a large dining room full of adoring Midwesterners on vacation. but maybe in some weird alternate universe version of Vegas.

This verse is like 'Rent' by Pet Shop Boys, but faster.

want you to stay put... remain where you are... no one means you don't need... an immovable enemy, just don't move in too close... yourself... want you over there... the director... she wasn't recognizing the cost of mistakes, which inevitably results in the becomer
