It's amazing that this was Aretha's first self penned song to appear on record! Columbia may not have gotten her blockbuster hits. What Columbia did do was record her correctly. Her vocals are upfront and center!13 years ago

The version you like was recorded a couple years after this one; it's from one of her last Columbia lps," YEAH!!". I agree it is better. YEAH!! was billed as "live from a nightclub w/ her trio", but it was really "live" in the studio w/ fake club chatter and applause dubbed in.14 years ago
