Let the 65 and up group get their groove on. She does her thing with confidence, and her voice IS SIGNATURE and still velvet and soulful.BUT-She's getting a little older, so I don't think the runs and riffs go with the high register she's using- IMO it leaves her sounding like a mix between Miss Piggy and disco's Sylvester -however, she owns it and does a good job. If this keeps her loving, dancing and singing then Im all for it.

Franklin's greatness lies in emoting the song's message through the power of her voice. Here the song just serves as a cynical vehicle for a display of virtuosity. Vocal noodling. Claims that she's "taking back" soul are misguided & superficial -- this track is rooted in Italian-American penny opera. And to use autotune on Aretha Franklin just shows how much the production team is misreading Franklin's appeal to her fanbase. Serious misfire... this track & album could have been a stratospheric success. Franklin covering Adele should have 100 million views by now.
