@hawksleyart01 I started listening to Arcturus just today and I'm absolutely hooked. I wish I have started 1997 :-)

@meowdebaker Arcturus totally trolled me out of $140. I was gonna go see them at Progpower 2011 in Atlanta (I live in California) but they cancelled, so there's no reason for me to go all the way out there, even if Isahn and a bunch of other good bands were playing, it just isn't worth the shitload of money if Arcturus isn't playing.

@whitenoisemonster666 ah the good ol' OLD SCHOOL era! Very much missed indeed! I think I first heard Arcturus on a compilation CD in 1999 and have been hooked every since! I've been into black metal/death metal since 1992.

@whitenoisemonster666 I started listening to them even earlier...and I saw them live once, with Red Harvest. Not the touring band really anyway, but not with Garm. Word on the street is they are reforming now that Simen has been booted out of Dimmu..hopefully..some truth to it. Best black metal prog ever.

I have both of those my friend =] LMI is a "Sometimes food", I like the higher singing that Garm does, it's so powerful. The low tone opera stuff doesn't so much do it for me but it depends on moon really. SS I don't really like. The Dimmu Borgir guy is good in Dimmu Borgir, but I don't really like his sound in Arcturus. Otherwise, they are very hard to tire of. So are Acid Bath.

Immortal and Emperor are from Norway ;) They was/were the leading Black metal bands under the BM era

Norway and Sweden put out the best I reckon aye. Opeth, Dissection, Mayhem, Arcturus, Dimmu Borgir [to an extent :p], Might as well chuck in Immortal and Emperor, even though I'm not sure where they're from. But, arcturus take the cake for being most creative and least able to get sick of.

I was probably 13 or so when Arcturus broke up. I really wish I might have seen them live. I only got Aspera and Constellation a couple months ago; I've had the Sham Mirrors for a while. In my opinion [feel free to disagree in a nice way] the Constellation + Aspera compilation thing I got off iTunes is... Pretty bloody amazing. It's other-worldly, no?

Shut the fuck up.

seems that this is not best Garm's vocal performance, there's the second version on reconstellation, with stronger re-recorded vocals

nope, probably never will :( theres a lot of my favorite bands that I will never see live. I guess my taste for music is a bit old for my age.
