@nightrider1692 - No I don't base it on record sales at all. My response was to a statement that their debut was the fastest selling yadda yadda yadda.... Whoever wrote that clearly views it as important. My favourite bands have barely sold anything. The bands I love most and respect musically have not sold as many records as the Arctic Monkeys or The Spice Girls. Record sales mean nothing. My argument was that their argument was moot.

@TheArcticMonkey24 @TheArcticMonkey24 Actually, that record has been beaten by Susan Boyle. Does that mean she is the greatest musical act of all time now? The singles chart will happen more often now that every album track counts towards the singles charts. Your facts and figures prove nothing. Come back when they've sold more records than The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zep, Oasis...... So many bands are better than these chancers.

@TheArcticMonkey24 Because I like Nick Cave and I like this song. I was curious to see what they'd done with it, but wish I hadn't bothered.

@TheArcticMonkey24 Ah. The NME. Yes. You can't compete with that. They're much better than the multitudes of British bands throughout history. I assume this is the same NME that declared The Vines as the saviours of Rock n Roll and the best bast of the last decade?

LOL too new. You've never heard The Strokes. Too new. Jesus. There are a thousand bands that have made the same sounds long before these. You'll see, when they stop being the current favourites in a year or so. You'll also say they were lame. I could give you a list as long as my arm of bands creating new stuff and none of them are being criticised.

The Jeweller's Hands. They created something NEW.

No it's not. They're so over-rated and so under-inspiring. I get tired of hearing how fantastic they are, yet they're not creating anything NEW.
