Chavs

I know most see this as being about chavs, but I like thinking of it as an outside view on a consumeristic world.'Although they might wear classic Reebok's, or classic converse, or Trackie bottoms tucked in socks, but all of that's what the point is not. The point's that there ain't no romance around there.'About people substituting romance, or real human emotion, for materialism in the form of clothes.'And there's the truth that they can't see. They'd probably like to throw a punch at me, and if you could only see 'em then you would agree. Agree that there ain't no romance around there.'Most people don't realize how consumerist and emotionless we all are and become aggressive when it's pointed out, but if you could truly see how people were then then you'd agree. This is also why the songs written from an outside perspective, because the singer detached himself from this consumerist and emotionless lifestyle.'You know, oh it's a funny thing you know. We'll tell 'em if you like, we'll tell 'em all tonight. They'll never listen because their minds are made up. Of course it's all ok to carry on that way.'People reject ideas of anti consumerism no matter how much they're told because of fear of stepping outside the status-quo. And because they don't see how their actions can have long term consequences, making it all ok.'And over there there's broken bones. There's only music so that there's new ringtones. And it don't take no Sherlock Holmes to see it's a little different around here.' There is violence in the world but it's seen as 'over there', as in people feel detached from it and don't care. The ringtone line shows that art is being devalued and the Sherlock line says it's obvious how much things have changed over time and/or how the singer's perspective differs from the perspective of the population.'Don't get me wrong though, there's boys in bands and kids who like to scrap with pool cues in their hands. And just cause he's had a couple of cans he thinks it's alright to act like a dickhead.'Stating that some thing's are universal. That kids will play music just for fun, people will always get into scraps in bars for no reason and everyone acts stupid when drunk.'Of course it's all ok to carry on that way but I said no, oh no. Well you won't get me to go. Not anywhere, not anywhere. No, I don't care.'Singer says that he's rejected the consumeristic lifestyle and how he won't go 'over there' with the rest and conform to it, no matter how much anybody tries to make him, because he just doesn't care about materialistic crap.'But over there there's friends of mine. What can I say? I've known 'em for a long, long time. And it might overstep the line. But you just cannot get angry in the same way. No, not in the same way.'No matter his beliefs, he can't bring himself to sacrifice friendship.Just a different analysis.

It's great when an american band uses english sayings and tries to play an english festival. These lads are probably one of my favorite american groups :)

That was pure amazingness, I wish I could have been there. I hate how they're not more popular than the crappy main stream music they play on the radio, it's total bull crap.
