It is pointless to compare Stalin and Lenin in this manner. Stalin was better than Hitler, but that doesn't make him "good" ruler, does it? Lenin was actually directly responsible for first post-revolution killings, which is not very widely acknowledged, and in a way made legal framework for later Stalin's atrocities. And his politics was also not completely correspondent to his pre-revolution theoretical writings.
