@ZeeGooner to add true persian culture as well, as in ancient persian. in fact i can say that some things in persian culture, are easily more beautiful than armenian, and some things in armenian are easily more beautiful than persian its very stupid to rank culture, but we are humans, what more do you expect here it goes 1.___ 2. Armenian/persian ranked the same 3.Japanese 4.Georgian 5. Greek 6. Irish 7.Slavic 8.Assyrian

@PeopleOfAr yes definitely i am in love with culture more than anything. and i am not just saying this because i am armenian, but i truthfully without any bias, am convinced we have one of the most beautiful cultures on earth. i also love the japanese, greek, georgian ( which is subconsciously heavily influenced by armenian) ancient slavic, irish, and assyrian. i have studies african cultures, some of them are interesting and folk songs are nice too, but nothing that really intrigues me

@PeopleOfAr the first book written about the ottomans, in turkey was written in Armenian. being a turk, is the same as saying you are an "American" however the turkish genome is much much more prominent and dominant throughout the nation, as compared to that of the native american. This isnt to say that some of the greatest turks, had speculated armenian ancestry, or definite armenian ancestry sinan the ottomans greatest architect armenian balayans greatest modern architect 19/20th century

@PeopleOfAr i am interested in race, but am not racist. i have black friends, arab friends, i dont judge people by their looks, but i recognize truth and reality. haha my friend, i can tell you most certainly, there are fanatic turks out there, who scream "Ataturk" who dont even know their ancestors are Armenian. In fact, when the seljuks first arrived, they were not accustom to these traditions in these lands, they incorporated Armenian court, and social techniques.

@ZeeGooner You know amongst Turks there are many genetic Armenians who lost their culture and thus their ethnicity. If my ancestors who are from Trabzond would convert to Islam we would never be prosecuted, but as a result we like many others would lose or culture thus our ethnicity. So like I said I believe ethnicity is defined by culture more so than genes, that’s why I focus more on that.

@ZeeGooner I am not judging anyone cause I don't know what your views are, but I am not really into race, I'm much more fascinated and concerned with culture. Particularly our culture and the way we carried it through millennia and through so much turmoil against all odds. Because eventually it's not our dna that makes us Armenians (sure it's a part but) it is more so our culture!

PeopleOfAr

@ZeeGooner I see what you're getting at, but I'm not that into race etc... because it's a very slippery slope to racism. Genetic research has mixed results and eventually anthropology does not even distinguish human races (not because it's a taboo) but because people are so much alike that those few differences are really neglectable considering everything.

@PeopleOfAr definitely, ive seen armenians who are far too dark, have curved noses, having a big nose isnt alien to us, its actually prominent in all aryans, when it is curved and sloops down that is a semetic trait, also shape of the skull etc etc we have been mixed, not entirely, but a large portion. however many historic armenians exist, those unique big captivating eyes, nice prominent noses etc etc.

@PeopleOfAr again, Armenians generally today are not nordic, however you can definitely find nordic types in Armenians, my family in particular has many nordic features, especially from dads side, and we are all fully armenian. original armenians, were two types, Caucasian types, which means darker sort of like mycenaean greeks who were dark, and the armens who were nordic, and the birth child for aryans and western europeans, they intermingled and formed Urartu

@PeopleOfAr again read before, tigranes' coins differ some looked european, some even surprisingly semetic, probably depending on the constructor of the coin, remember the people who smelted the coins probably never saw tigran so they used an image of what people generally in those regions would have looked like. Thats why Tigrans coins differ, some look western european, some look even semetic. we probably got our occupants to do that work, especially the semites, hence why he looked like that

@PeopleOfAr agreed, we have always been recorded in the Armenian highland definitely. both armens and hayks, again i say this because my own theory is the armens specifically made two huge migrations, one to western europe, greece, thrace, so on and forth, and formed tribes especially in the greek world, then came back and re-colonized their place of origin Armenian Highland.

@ZeeGooner But I do believe we might have got a mix in our gene pool from more Asiatic and more Middle eastern peoples that made us darker maybe.

@ZeeGooner I don’t care much for skin color as I deem it a silly property to focus on. Skin color has to do with pigmentation and defense against sunlight. Naturally the hotter place people live the more pigmentation they show. Otherwise they would not be protected by suns radiation and obviously die sooner have less offspring and get extinct if they live in a sunny country! I don’t believe Armenians are Nordic or something like that.
