@inphanta Just that n-gameboy came several years later ;) i've been doing chip-tunes since late 80's with everything from SID/c64 to Amiga.

Makes me miss the 1st computer I ever had, and the 2nd and 3rd... (Commodore Vic-20, C-64 & C-128) I had a very large collection of music for them. Now, all that is lost in the string of time, way in the past.

commodore was the best for games, thats all i used mine for. you could buy blank discs pretty cheap then copy all your friends games.

Great. Who cares? I didn't say it wasn't advanced for its time. I said it was old, which is true.

@vsander09: Actually the SID was very advanced for its time and is still celebrated today for its unique sound. Hence videos like this.

@vsander09: Actually what they did was "borrow" lots of Gameboy chiptunes and tried to pass it off as their own work.

Any comprehensive music store like Guitar Center et al should have plenty of hardware or software synthesizers.

If you like the old sounds you should check out Crystal Castles who wrote their entire album using only sounds from the Atari 5200 soundcard synth.

This remix is actually done on a very old computer called the Commodore 64. It had a primitive soundcard synth. Stephan likes to use it quite a bit.... this isn't the only c64 mic he's done.
