Nicely done. Excellent sound quality and nice montage of the album cover, the tone arm, and the spinning disc.

My dad used to play this song in our car all the time when I was like 5 years old, I've searched for it for a long time until it was played in this "Better for it" Nike commercial :D brings back great memories of my childhood

in 1979 the Beach Boys did another version of the same Bach-theme called "Lady Lynda".

I heard this this recently on a Dutch radio station, Radio 5 Nostalgia. I had not heard it for years. Great, uplifting arrangement. I think Bach would have approved.

Producers Tom Parker and Miki Dallon had a 1971 hit, "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" from British longtime backup singers Mac and Katie Kissoon on ABC Records (and there's a long story behind that song); that led to this one getting a US release in early 1972. Wonder if old Johann got any royalties from this one. There was a second LP, "Master Pieces", with one helluva cover, in '73, but no more hit singles.

This is exactly the version of the tune I got knowledge of. And I was 11 years of age in summer 1972 as I lay in my brand new tent at my home in Germany when it was played on my father's transistor radio that sunny afternoon. The (original) classical version appeared to me much later, indeed.

Fantastic - I remember this great take on Bach's "Jesu," getting airplay back in 1972!Love it!

I love this old classic by Appollo 100 and play it frequently. Also enjoy reading all the comments. Has anyone else noticed that not a single troll has left hjis/her smear to sully the joy of listening and reading. PM

Steeleye Span did a version of this called "Bach goes to Limerick". Nice tune.
