Anti-Flag's not really emo. What people call emo today isn't even really emo or at least the emo I like. I hear a lot of people calling old school emo and new bands in the old style "Skram" I think. Listen to Rites of Spring "For Want Of" and you may change your mind about emo. But yeah, I don't care for their new sound. Justin sings less too and he's part of what made the band stand out for me.

Look up Native Nod - Crossing. It's a song about slaves being transported to America on ships like cattle. It's sad and powerful and political and intensely emotional in it's performance... but it's hardcore/punk at the end of the day.

You clearly got your idea about emo from people that don't listen to emo. Emo was early hardcore, originally, and yes it transformed into A LOT of things over the years, but it's not all about being sad. that's a ridiuclous stereotype. It's just emotionally charged hardcore. It could be about how you felt growing up with your friends or an emotionally expressive depiction of slaves being beaten to death. It could be anything. Sadness over lovers comes up, but it's not what emo is.

Don't use words you don't understand. Being "ignorant" does not mean "durr he does things I don't like". Not only is it unlikely that he searched up this song (he was probably linked to it), but even if he had looked it up to hear it again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with him providing his criticism.
