I never really cared for At The Drive-In. Some of the music? Sure, but Cedrics vocals (and especially Jim Ward's whenever he contributed) were horrible. Always screaming. That kind of thing has never been my cup of tea. Antemasque is more like Mars Volta got rid of the keyboards, percussion, etc and brought some of that ATDI music into the mix. Or at least their roots. When Volta started, it was a complete departure from ATDI. With this it's different, I see it as the evolution of TMV only with a different name.10 years ago

very cool, not the greatest music i have heard but still digging it. kinda like comparing when at the drive-in broke up and it was the mars volta on one side and spartacus on the other (i think that is what they were called), one band went off the deep end and the other went for a more traditional rock band11 years ago
