Ferera does a brilliant job the music is superb and Annette Hanshaw sings those beautiful lyrics in her usual fantastic style....She captures a sophisticated simplicity. This is so brilliant especially when one thinks this was recorded almost a Century ago...smiles

Beautiful transfer Aads! Congrats to you for introducing another chapter of Annettes singing career! The 1928 Hawaiian craze! Its mentioned in my 1928 Radio Digest in a Guy Lombardo article!~ I just learned Annette recorded several Hawaiian songs but I have never heard one! You have the rarest Hanshaws! Just wonderful.

The Hawaiian style guitar, so familiar a sound to us today, must have seemed rather exotic to the average Joe, in 1928. So exotic, Annette's vocal mimics the rise and fall sound of the guitar. Was it just me, or did you hear this too...there were times during the melody that reminded me of the song..."When you're young at heart" . This was an interesting post, Aad.
