I think it's funny how people are criticizing Anna Kendrick here just because she's not a professional singer. She's an actor no shit she's not going to be as amazing but for her raw voice that's pretty great.

Are people really saying that Anna doesn't know what she's doing? She STARTED on Broadway. She is the second youngest person to ever be nominated for a Tony. She knows what she's doing. She was obviously nervous... but who wouldn't be when they sing with Kristin Chenoweth? Also, Anna's an alto, isn't she? This song is high for an alto. She didn't hit any bum notes and stayed in tune the whole time. She didn't do nearly as bad as some of you are acting like she did. She didn't even do bad at all.

people must understand that she is a film actress that does movie musicals even though she started on broadway/theatre she hasnt needed to build the same stamina as theatre singers (she isnt singing the into the woods on stage live, night after night for months) its different ... this was a one off chance for her to perform with Kristen for one night in which she was understandable very nervous. She is also not a soprano (she has said in an interview that on the steps of the palace was out of her range)

Ive always said this and will continue to do so, Anna needs lessons on how to sing. She just sings, but no true training, remember we heard her sing in Pitch Perfect... People those songs are prerecorded and auto tuned... She needs work on breathing, and not to sound like she has a cold, and not to strain at the back of her throat. Uncomfortable to listen and watch, she shouldn't be putting her hand on her stomach in a performance i sign of a weak diaphragm.- I sing a lot, my teacher is a very successful opera and musical theatre singer.
