"Hollywood" Lyrics:

I blame you Hollywood,

for showing me things you never should

show a young girl,

In a cruel world.

Because life's not a happy ending,

I'm sure there is some,

like Johnny and June,

and maybe other people too.

They all would have been killed

in the sound of music,

they would have found out that

Pinocchio could never tell the truth.

She never would have made it to shore,

the little mermaid. He would have married a whore

from a wealthy family, after all he was royalty.

Cinderella would have scrubbed those floors

till her hands grew old and tired,

and nobody would look away,

that's the way it goes today.

I blame you Hollywood,

for showing me things you never should

show a young girl,

In this cruel world.

Because life's not a happy ending,

I'm sure there is some

like Johnny and June,

and maybe other people too.

And maybe other people too (x5)

Does she really sing, "would have married a whore from a wealthy family..."? Wow, it's jarring to find that kind of slut-shaming lyric all of a sudden in this lovely music.

Rap isn't crap don't be so judgmental. It's all about the lyrics, you obviously haven't heard the good rap.. Right now type in 'Twenty One Pilots - Holding On To You' its not what you think its not even so much rap they are my favourite band and have been put in their own genre because there is nothing else like it. The singer/rapper is Tyler Joseph and as far as I'm concerned is the best lyricist in the world just give it a go

Alos Tricia Rose, a professor at Brown University speaks about rap history and mass medias influence find her lectures on here. She is well spoken and really expresses how many of us feel with rap and hip hop Heres the title of one: "Hip Hop, Mass Media and Racial Storytelling in the Age of Obama" /watch?v=rbAVa8ndepk&feature=BFa&list=UUAz2Ja7BbeL7vPkiChQ1Tpg

Many people have different tastes for music. There is good rap music in the world today,& its hard to find when the music industry is putting out poor excuses for musical expression. Rap,&pop used to have meaning &melodies, it used to tell stories of struggle, philosophies on life &experience. We forget to ask what the musicians want to express.Lyrics used to have poetic words, now music can be mediocre and repeat one word and be called music.Watch a documentary PressPausePlay

the choice of words was bad, it`s not the genre (rap) that`s the issue, it`s the most mainstream singers of each genre that usually and unfortunately promote an image of false-values to be more important, and usually have only 3 lines that repeat over and over again, mostly containing the words: Power, money, enemies, rule the world, and bull crap like that. I fell in love with hip-hop and rap a long time ago, but it`s the underground and old forgotten music that really send a message.

If you don't know a thing about rap, then don't make that kind of comment. All music has depth, some you can relate to and some you can't. So don''t pass judgement on music you don't like, because you can't relate to it. Just be thankful that there's music you can relate to. Merry Christmas and happy Holidays!

I personally actually find rap aesthetically pleasing. A beat can be incredibly powerful and actually stir something inside of you. Normally I listen to music like this, but I do love rap.

You have no idea about rap. You should listen to Eyedea, Nach, Rafael Lechowski, Dee-1. Hopsin. There's no need to diss other music genre.

rap is crap? excuse me but real rap has real depth and tells lots of life issues and stories. and im not talking about like lil wayne or drake... im talking about actual rap.

ugh, the sound of music is based on a true story. that's the only flaw in this song!
