Do you remember, a lot of the more radical, proper punks, were being subverted at the beginning of the 80's? Do you remember the Redskins? Proper! We had the Upstarts, you had the rejects, the Jocks had the Exploited. Ah memories. lol. Be lucky bro.

I Thought the Upstarts were a great band, But being a cockney, i used to follow the Rejects back in the day. Mensi`s political views matched mine, I Was always pro trade union, But pro British as well. I Think most working class lads were at the time.

That was the idea. But that's not how it all panned out. I was there at the time, involved with a band that had some connections with the Upstarts. I blame Kieth Bell, sometime manager and so called Sheriff of South Shields. (a legend in his own mind)

I Think you are wrong, The Upstarts always took the best bits from the right & left. And put them together. They was always socialist, But they hated the Islington Trendy left who have fucked this country big time.
