Angela Gheorghiu... excelente

Her stance bothers me. It calls attention to itself because with her hands down at her hips rather continuously, she looks stiff. Anything which calls attention to itself and distracts from the singing is a no-no. Vocally very good, but she doesn't move into the realm of great for me.

superbe performance, i loved how she could act the words she was singing, truly amazing.. i saw her years ago at la scala when she was playing violetta, i think her performance was superior to diana damrau's, diana (in my opinion) lacks personality and her acting is terrible sometimes, i wanted to go see her in lucia but i don't think i will, callas ruined it for me and now i can't stand anyone else performing it

The "final maledizione" y'all keep referring to is not in the score... just wanted to point that out. Somehow it has become performance practice - Callas is the first I can think of who did it with a 5th repetition of the word. Hate to break it to y'all, but the ending sung here is what Verdi actually wrote...

the comments here are hilarious to say the least but I guess we are all entitled to our opinions. I actually love Angelas tone and diction. Didnt like however how she left out the final maledizione...be that as it may, the queen of this aria, and many others will always be Leontyne Price. Her diction, control, tone and quality of sound are unsurpassed. And that my friends...is fact! ;)
