Welcome back everyone! Well Andy Williams could be considered a love child. These two songs "Aquarius" and "Let The Sunshine In" are from the musical "Hair" which opened in 1967.Hair is by James Rado & Gerome Ragni who wrote the lyrics, and Galt MacDermot who wrote the music, to a musical that broke many racial barriers of the time. So at home before the cameras, Andy William's variety show was much beloved staple of the 60's. You name the star, and Andy had them on the show, including many rock acts of the time. He learned a lot from the phenomenal Kay Thompson when the Williams brothers were her boys. I love the song "Aquarius" because it is so upbeat, and predicted a time on our planet when love and peace would rule! "Good Morning Starshine" is also another favorite from this show. We covered some songs having to do with the merits of being a performer with our last selection from Coleman's "Little Me". Next up we will hear Sondheim's take on entertaining a crowd, and I know you know what's up next ! We'll be back:)
