This brings me back at least 10 years; back when I used to go dancing a lot...out in the Stockyards of Fort Worth. My hometown paved the way for many-a-memory, back in my younger years. I was born and raised there, had two of my kids there, met my husband there. I lost my Mom and Daddy there. But those are the times I try to keep inside. Still, my parents are always with me. The last time I was on stage in my hometown was at the Chisolm Trail Days, there in the Stockyards. I remember wishing my parents could be there to see me perform, as a long-held dream came to be a reality for me. And even though I don't get to visit my loved ones back in the Fort as often as I'd like; the memories of my younger days, dancing at the Cadillac Club...to this song by Andy Griggs, will forever be entertaining me in my thoughts.
