Gold was phenomenally talented. Singer, piano, drums, guitar. He played for Linda Ronstadt up until he did this song.

This one finds it's way back into the rotation every few years. I was 15 when it came out. Meant a lot then, still does. Check out the awesome drummer and his awesome samurai suit. Freakin' Waddy Wachtel blazing guitar. Holds up now as always. Thank you AG

This was basically the same lineup as Linda Ronstadt's backup band in those years. A terrific collection of musicians.

WOW....I miss the Midnight Special......around a month ago he spent the night here and played this. He asked me had I ever heard it and I replied, "Yea, man, but not a whole lot of my buds knew I liked it". Then The words started to remind me of the time Devin and I were wrestling on the bed then Jordan come runnin in and dove on top of us. I didn't scream real loud but I said " Boy, they aint room for you on here'' he was like 9 or 10 yrs' old and his little eyes just watered up. A moment later I realized what had transpired and went to his room to appologise....THat crushed him ! I guess I had deleted that from my memory but when he played this he seen the teers rolling down my cheek. he said "Dad, thot You liked this". I told him it brought back that bad moment of me being a daddy and his reply was... ?????????? he doesn't have any memories of it...LOL

For anyone who may have stumbled onto this by accident, this is an artifact of what used to be called "music" as played and sung by real-life human beings with actual talent, developed skill and something to express. This art form died sometime around 1998 ....

Love this song. Made me think of my oldest brother who ended up with two younger brothers and two younger sisters. It hasn't been all about you in a long time bro... time to get over it!
