for all tid was the best dimmu record it was so epic still one of my fave black metal records,cradle has catchy melodies for pseudo gothic/emo girls etc etc still they are good but not black metal.

I think the reason why Ancient is compared to both Dimmu and cradle 1. in songs like willow the wisp and lilith embrace... the rather "over dramaticness" of the music videos is similar to what cradle of filth does. Plus the vampire themes doesn't help unfortunatly... 2. ancient is heavily symphonic like dimmu but yes... unlike both bands. (though dimmu's early stf was very good), Ancient combines the raw misanthropic vocals of black metal with choir\orchestrial sounds which suits it well

why u compare ancient with dimmu and cradle in all of these videos i see ppl do it..ancient was far supperior than those bands..my personal opinion is that ancient were pure black and underground!! the rest bands are for new guys in this music,its like starting hearing heavy metal and u listen to iron maiden

Why everybody always getting at Cradle for getting a little famous for what they do? No matter if they didn't have the style first, they still was brave enough to get out of that ridiculous thing where Black Metal always got to be in the shadows and not how u say????? MAINSTREAM! All Mainstream music ain't bad. Yeah sure Cradle is a little famous for doing what they do but at least they was brave to share the knowledge of Black Metal's existence. I they got me into black metal for god sakes.
