Ancient Asian music about a dock where unsavory thieves and villains ship goods in and out of the shipyard. Though there unlawful business is known to many people, no one interferes with them. No one questions them. It's much safer that way.

The name of this dark Asian music I composed is Ancient Wharf. Thanks for listening!

A bit of the melody kind of reminded me of the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.

Yes, it's hard to pin a style of music on a piece, but it's important to do it, though. Generalizations definitely help make things easier. ;)

Yeah, that's why I changed it to oriental music instead. I think it fits better. It's not like the title of the music really has anything specifically to do with Japanese music. It's more of a fantasy/oriental type of music that I was going for. :D

I see. I guess it's the same as how I think "This music sounds Arabian," "This sounds Chinese," etc. but I'm probably wrong for the most part. =P This music reminds me of something I watched before, but I can't remember what. xD;

I don't care ... I knew it wasn't authentic Japanese music. For the most part, the music is just a combination of a weird culture with an oriental tone to it. Still, it's more Japanese-sounding than most of my music, so I stuck with it, in spite of the fact that some of the pictures seem to resemble some Atlantean city more than a Japanese one. Still, I'm glad you like it anyway. :D

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if it's really "Japanese sounding." (I mean, no offense. xD But I'm of Japanese blood, so... yeah.) The instruments are Japanese, but the base of the melody still sounds Western to me. o.o And that picture is clearly not Japan.. xD; Oh well? I like it anyways! It makes me think of... a mysterious city with mixed culture. :)
