Why is it that the light that burns twice as bright only lasts half as long...........

Her performance at NSJ2004 was probably the best one of her "Frank Era". I love to listen to it, but I've never seen the video before.

No singer has ever reached such a supremacy of soul effect. This is what should be called a torturous joy.

I feel sorry for you and your ignorance .. you don't know that Amy's British, so I doubt you even know her as an artist. Well, I'll tell you something, your ears, heart, your soul - your everything - is missing out so much! Your loss ..

Amy's, soulful grittiness, was superb but she was equally superb when she got soft and melodic. This lady's voice was a unique instrument! She, should still be here. She, had a lot left to give us. She, definitely had SOUL!

i'm a huge fan of amy's, have been since 05 and i think she was genuine in her singing. you can usually tell when someone's faking having soul. BUT i do think there's a novelty when it comes to white singers singing soul music or "sounding black" these days though. that's why you probably can't find someone who is black and sings soul music get as huge as amy or adele anymore because they're no novelty and it's "expected". that's just my opinion anyway.

If you knew anything about AW you would know that she once said she is a black woman trapped in a white woman's body. This woman HAD SOUL. Europeans on the whole love jazz. Show me someone here in the states who can produce SOUL like this. She Feels her music. Which is more than i can say about the music produced in America. Show me an artist ( in the US) who sounds close to this. NO ONE. Everybody want to produce hip hop and Rap. She is not impersonating a black woman.IMO

But, I do respect your opinion. You don't have to like Amy.

Amy was influenced by jazz, which is why she sings like this. She is not impersonating a 'black woman'. Besides, voice and music know no ethnicity.

i'm sorry, this is trash. Maybe because I'm African American, and this sounds like a poor impersonation of a black women. I bet she's British, because the British do great impersonation of us in music.
