Never tired of listening to Amy Grants version of "Bartenders Blues". One can feel the emotion of that song when she sings it, her voice her facial expression and everything else that convey whatever the feelings and emotions of this song.

Doyle, yeah- octo's a retard... but check your facts - it's track 5 on the 1977 album "JT," and there's a very revealing interview with Taylor on the Billboard website, about how he wrote it specifically FOR George. Being a lifelong fan of Amy's, and having known Bonnie since before the world heard about her, I can honestly say I can't say either's rendition is better than the other's... HOWEVER, my personal taste is with Amy. Her phrasing, delivery - EVERYTHING - is perfect. Love it. Thanks for the post. I mean no insult, I'n not a hater... but octo needs to get off the meth.

Gloria put it into words for me. No matter how much I love George Jones and have most of his music, I get the same experience of chills when Amy Grant sings Bartender Blues. I have watched the entire show of Georges 50th almost every night

Why do people with a hundred songs feel the need to sing someone else's? They never do it as well and that's not what the audience wants to hear.
