Even in the classical saxophone world women players are valued solely, or almost solely, for their looks. Amy Dickson is a good enough player but is being marketed for her looks rather than her playing. Please we need to put a stop to this.

Amy Dickson (born c.1982) is a London-based, Australian classical saxophone player. Her 2013 album Dusk & Dawn achieved the #1 position in the UK classical charts. She also won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2013 Classic Brit Awards.Amy Dickson is deeply committed to the development of new repertoire for the saxophone, whilst also championing existing repertoire. She regularly commissions new works, and makes arrangements of existing works from other instrumental repertoire. She has made a substantial contribution to the orchestral, chamber and solo repertoire. Composers who have written for her include Ross Edwards, Peter Sculthorpe, Graham Fitkin, Steve Martland and Huw Watkins.

Okay I loved your rendition of Philip Glass's work so I thought I'd check out your current work. Listened to 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes', then 'La Strada', then halfway through 'Pavane' I just went to iTunes and bought your the album. Didn't need any more convincing, you have rendered many dreamy and nostalgic soundscapes for this album. Thank you.
