But this song (and most of the album) is about Irish mythology. Amorphis were never viking metal

@egarran Indeed. This song at times almost sounds like it could have come from Tales.

For years I've wanted to get this album, never got around to it...it's like a totally different band than they are now. After Elegy I lost interest. Elegy, and Tales from the 1000 lakes are awesome.

Imo, this song is where Amorphis found their sound.

This is the best Amorphis song in the whole entire universe ever! Damn they used to fucking kick fucking ass at that time and this album cover is one of the coolest ever.

song makes me think of viking warriors marching by torchlight from the shore, across a field in the dead of night, and preparing for a night attack on a enemy village while the wind howls...and at 2:46, they begin to fight...great atmosphere that Amorphis creates

The mood of this song in particular is incredible. The karelian isthmus is a must have album for any metalheads out there!

Do not quarrel Viking brothers, Amon Amarth and old Amorphis are the true songs of Viking heroes! Hail the power of cold northern steel and of the power of our Viking Axes!!!!!!!!!!!!
