Joe Venuti and His Blue Four -- The Man From The South (Rube Bloom), Odeon 1929 (the original recording was made in USA by Okeh, in 1928)

NOTE: The names of Joe Venuti's Blue Four, Blue Five or Blue Six referred to the number of musicians used on the recording session. Usually, the musicians included Joe Venuti , Eddie Lang and Frankie Trumbauer as well as one or two other members of Paul Whiteman's Orchestra at the time that these sessions were performed. The presence of three music geniuses (Venuti -- violin, Lang -- guitar and Trumbauer -- saxophone) make these recordings masterpieces of American instrumental jazz of the swing era.

Compare this version of that excellent & super-hot tune with the one recorded by its composer Rube Bloom And His Bayou Boys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW3kqdbzDFA

Sorry but it's not Tram. It was Adrian Rollini on bass sax. The others are Eddie Lang on guitar, Arthur Schutt on piano and, Joe Venuti on violin.

@XxXEMOBOYx Witaj, właśnie przejrzałem pod tym katem katalog Lerskiego, ale niestet Venutiego nie znalazłem. To by jak najlepiej świadczyło o guście Warsa (dyrektora artystycznego Syreny) jeśli kupowali licencje takich artystów z zagranicy!

@tomekemo Niedo wiary, ze tylko cztzerch muzyków to gra: Venuti na skrzypcach, Lang - gitara, Trumbauer - C-sax oraz perkusja, ale nie wiem kto na niej. To byli muzycy! Po prostu - rozsadzało ich

@bill3murr I just wrote to Fred, recommending to him my last uploading at Dailymotion with a fantastic version of Trumbauer's orchestra in "My Sweeter Than Sweet"

@genia106 Genia, I have exactly the same feeling, especially when I hear the "klezmer" introduction: a sudden shift from a long & melancholic preface into a jerky hot "horah"... !nd the car...? Ooh, it's Rudy's Duesenberg, I'm afraid. There's a talk in the town, it's that little nasty Clara B. who sent it to him as her tiny tip for the most enchanting tango they had one night at Nazimova
