The most anticipated song of The Amboy Dukes Reunion trilogy from the 2009 Detroit Music Awards. "Journey to the Center of the Mind" is a fan favorite like no other and you could tell Ted certainly appreciated that fact. He played with reckless abandon and tongue wagging swashbuckling demeanor only Ted Nugent could muster. Steve Farmer also got into the tongue wagging spirit of the moment.

The lighting and staging at The Fillmore in Detroit was superb. Kudos to The Motor City Music Foundation for putting on a great show with first class atmosphere.

The Amboy Dukes featured Ted Nugent on lead guitar, Andy Solomon on Hammond B 3, Rick Lober keyboards, Steve Farmer rhythm guitar, Jim Butler drums, John Drake lead vocal, Bill White bass.

Shot and edited with high definition micro cams dispersed throughout the theater by Brother Crimewave, Julie Pulgini and Dan Boyd Wizard of Livonia

Good guitar tone by Nugent revisiting Michigan psychedelic classico sauce of Amboy Dukes . . . .

Ya get the feeling the band hates Ted? I don't like him or his redneck views, but that's just me. Great guitarist, though.

WOW!! The Amboy Dukes with almost the whole original lineup !!! Never thought I'd ever see that again!!! Ted's piece looks like the original one from 68' It still sounds as good as ever!!! They did a good job considering well hey 41 yrs ago and it sounded close to havin the record on the turn table again!!!

I don't give a big $hit about TN's politics or hunting habits, but that said, the string-ripping guitar in this song rocks me to this day!

God, he looks like such a goofball..there's nothing cool about his stage presence at all. His playing is fine, but he appears like a damn fool. He looks even more retarded when he wears that ridiculous corporate seminaresque head mic he wears. How anyone could be that lacking in self-awareness is beyond me. What an embarrassment.

This is kind of cool, but the vocals aren't in synch with the tempo and Ted seems to be off tempo. But hey, 41 years later I wouldn't expect perfection

I'll assume John hasn't sung this song in a while.

I mean, john drake has either lost his hearing or has gone tone deaf. Timing also gone. It is clear some led a reasonably healthy lifestyle and some, oh well...

I wonder if Uncle Ted was thinking of fucking an under aged 15 year old girl during this performance---yep!

I disagree with his politics. But this video is about MUSIC, not politics. Fifty years or so will take its toll on everyone... Nugent still has the guitar chops.

People ridicule his hunting, but you notice how much healthier he seems compared to everyone else on stage?

Nugent looks like just another redneck who can't hold his beer. Plays great tho'.
