As a musician, I've always deemed (nice vocabulary) bridges to be any change in the notes or tone of the song leading from one part to another, whether its a verse loop cut short and replaced with an equally long riff/phrase causing a clean, unique transition into the next verse, chorus, solo, whatever. Basically a bridge to a different part, so where are you getting off by being a dick? Riffs to transition from verse to verse = bridge. You're over thinking music buddy.
